On 6 November, Aries Lima (reported as both Dutch and Portuguese), a sailor from the tug Haliva Champion, died after a fall while attempting to reattach the tow lines.

11月3日,由6艘拖船拖曳的“瓦良格”号航母在爱琴海斯基罗斯岛附近的国际海域遭遇前所未有的风暴,它与拖船连接的拖缆在9级大风中相继被拉断。 这个庞然大物就像一匹脱缰的野马,在海上失去了控制,横冲直撞。“瓦良格”号脱离拖船之后漂向埃维亚岛,距该岛岸边只有80公里。

不过,希腊商业海运部表示,这艘航母并无沉没或搁浅的危险。救援人员竭尽全力拯救,花费很长时间,基本控制了船只。一架希腊救援直升机在航母甲板上 着陆,把船上的七名船员,包括三名俄罗斯船员、三名乌克兰船员和一名菲律宾船员送到雅典以西的一个军用机场。经体检,医生证明他们情况良好。11月6日, 拖船号上的水手Aries Lima在试图固定拖缆时殉职。11月7日,3艘拖船和1艘希腊船只用拖缆固定住“瓦良格”号,最终将其控制住。

submit abstracts for the 2011 Joint Rail Conference (JRC) has been
extended to 17 October 2010.

We encourage you to circulate this message and
the attached pdf file, "JRC 2011 Call for Papers &
Presentations"
within your organizations and to any others
who may be interested.  Thanks very much to all of you who have
already submitted an abstract to JRC 2011.  The abstract review
process will begin shortly after 17 October.

JRC 2011 is a cooperative effort of ASME,
ASCE, IEEE, AREMA, APTA and TRB, and is intended to be international
in scope.  Given its focus and timing, it will be particularly
worthwhile for those interested in the development of new passenger
rail initiatives in North America, but there will also be significant
focus on all aspects of freight and commuter rail engineering and
transportation topics (see below).  The organizers encourage you
and your colleagues to submit abstracts.  There will also be an
opportunity for those who are interested to publish papers in the JRC
2011 Proceedings.

research.  The conference is a cooperative effort of the six
co-sponsoring organizations and will be held March 16-18, 2011 at the
Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colorado, 115 miles, (184 km)
south of Denver.

第一届铁道工程关键技术国际学术会议圆满成功

2010820日至22日,由我校主办的第一届铁道工程关键技术国际学术会议(International Conference on Railway Engineering)在京召开。我校李学伟副校长代表学校出席开幕式并预祝会议圆满成功,大会主席陈峰副校长致欢迎词。对外联络合作处、科学技术处、宣传部等五个部门以及土建学院的领导老师参加了会议。来自美国、俄罗斯、德国、日本、澳大利亚、南非等多个国家和香港、台湾地区的200多位专家学者齐聚一堂,共同探讨了高速、重载铁路和城市轨道交通领域的核心关键技术。

 

 

本次会议共收到中英文论文500多篇,经学术委员会审核的300余篇优秀论文已由中国铁道出版社结集出版。大会包括主题发言、按会议主题分组讨论和邀请报告以及参观京沪高速铁路施工现场三个环节。与会专家学者分别从规划设计、轨道结构、路基工程、轨道交通综合新技术和桥梁与隧道新技术等五个议题展开讨论与交流,中国工程院院士、北京交通大学城市轨道交通研究中心所主任施仲衡(大会名誉主席)表示,当前是我国高速、重载和城市轨道交通飞速发展的关键时期,要解决目前存在的一系列问题规划是基础,设计是关键,同时要大力鼓励科技人员的科技创新。

 

 


内铁道工程知名专家、中央组织部专家库专家赵国堂(大会副主席)作了题为《京沪高度铁路无砟轨道规模化应用技术》的主题报告,重点讲解了京沪高速铁路修建
中所面临的特殊问题以及解决方案。国家勘察设计大师、铁四院总工程师王玉泽,从宏观角度分析了我国长江三角洲地区城际铁路线网的规划研究。美国伊利诺伊大
学厄巴纳-香槟分校铁路交通运输中心主任
Christopher P.L.Barkan以《美国发展高速客运铁路发展的技术挑战》为题,介绍了美国发展高速客运铁路的初步规划和面临的问题。

 

经过学术委员会讨论决定,共从5个分会场中评选出10篇优秀论文,来自北京交通大学、武汉理工大学和澳大利亚昆士兰大学的10名学生获此殊荣。

 

 

第一届铁道工程关键技术国际学术会议的成功召开,在展示本领域的最新国际科研成果的同时,扩大了我校的国际影响,提升了我校铁道工程学科在国际同行的知名度,为与国际著名专家学者的交流与合作打下良好的基础,也为我校成为国内一流、国际知名院校发挥了积极作用。

国际在线专稿:近日,荷兰NL建筑设计公司推出了他们的粤港大桥设计杰作,该桥梁是为连接中国香港和大陆量身打造的。大桥主体是交叉螺旋的造型,如同一串
珍珠横跨江面,这样设计是为了调整大陆和香港不同的交通行驶习惯:香港人靠左行驶,而大陆则是靠右行驶。通过这样的大桥,驾驶者不用变换车道,沿着道路行
驶即可。

  不过,如此复杂的设计需要采用轻质材料建设桥梁。以上是《世界报》发布的一组该桥梁的设计图。
